Lorne Butt
Lorne has been
an instructor with CODAC since 2001. He started agility
with Brandy, an older yellow lab cross then took over
the training and handling of a Rottweiler, Jessie, who was
trialing at the Advanced level in AAC until her retirement.
He is now training and trialing a border collie youngster, Jock,
at the Master level. He has taken
various classes and seminars on Agility from handlers such
as Marlene Ness (formerly from Vernon), Guy Blancke of
Belgium, Barb Davis of Washington State, Kim Collins
from Prince George, and Theresa Rector from Toronto.
He, along with
his wife, Lenore Trudel, is currently concentrating on
training methods that focus on and encourage working at
a distance from the dog. This method builds confidence in the dog on
the obstacles as well as obstacle discrimination right from the
beginning. |
